Not Waving But Drowning

from Song Poem SHT (EP) by SHT Musik

/

about

Based on the Stevie Smith poem of the same name.

lyrics

Nobody heard him, the dead man,
Still he lay moaning:
I was much further out than you thought (X 3)
And not waving... but drowning.

Poor guy always loved playin´
Now he’s dead
Must have been too cold his heart gave way, ( X 3)
They said.

Oh, no no no, it was too cold always
(Still the dead one lay moaning)
I was much too far out all my life (X 3)
And not waving... but drowning.

But drowning...
